Help me to buy an HDTV!?

After this summer, I buy a really good TV for me, I want him to 40-50 inches is nice for the games you want to be able to connect my desktop / laptop screen, I want to be able to now on my wall, I have: no idea what to buy the brand no idea what is better: 720 or 1080? p? i? What kind of things even mean? no idea how much I should expect to pay if someone can help me that would be great! Thanks

A 1080p HDTV is not identical or similar to a 720p HDTV, keep in mind that sales people often try to confuse consumers to buy now and ignoring the fact that HDTV are sold at a low price is actually lower at 1080p leaps and bounds with his counterpart. For any type of screen technology to be considered "high definition" or HDTV brand, you must meet the basic resolution. HDTVs have several resolutions, 720p, 1080i and 1080p. The 720 vertical scanning means 720 lines of resolution. In a 720p screen are 720 vertical lines and 1280 horizontal lines. Therefore, it is a resolution of 720 x 1280. The "p" means "Progressive Scan", which refers to how the lines of resolution are drawn on the screen. On a 720p display all lines of resolutions updated at the same time, shows that have relatively traditional interlaced scanning, all the odd lines and then updates all the lines themselves are updated resolutions then occurs so rapidly that the viewer sees a complete picture at any time.
